Pregnancy Work Life Balance

Being pregnant doesn't mean that you have to say goodbye to a wonderful and fulfilling career that you've spent the last 10 years nurturing and building.  Lots of women really do ‘want it all' and why not?  Is it bad to want a family and continue with your chosen career?
Experts are now agreeing that it is good to continue working throughout one's pregnancy. Work keeps you active both mentally and physically, while helping to ease the tedium that pregnancy brings with it," affirms Dr K V Mahalakshmi, gynaecologist, Rockland hospital. Experts believe that if women can balance their nutrition, physical and emotional wellbeing along with their professional responsibilities, then they can easily enjoy a healthy pregnancy and an active career.
Planning for this change in lifestyle is definitely a smart thing to do; exploring your employer's policy on paid maternity leave and other parental benefits.  Working out mortgage and car repayments and how much savings you have in the bank all go into the mix to decide how long you can financially afford to take off from work, along with your employer's company view on the situation.
Taking it easy is another healthy attitude to adopt during your pregnancy.  Some mums-to-be are fortunate enough to lie down during lunch breaks to rest or sleep, or perhaps need a revitalising walk in the fresh air to help with stresses that may be associated with the job.
